Math Memory

I messed up how the game scales itself when the window is resized, which conflicts with any scaling that happens on itch due to your OS. And it may not scale properly if you fullscreen. My apologies!

A new twist on memory, now adding math!

In Math Memory, you're playing a game of memory while doing arithmetic! Every round, 3 cards are added to the board. You must group a number with a symbol and then another number. The result of that calculation is the maximum value your next group can have, until all cards currently on the board are used.

When you complete a round, 3 more cards are added, and the existing cards will be hidden. You must remember what they were, because you still have to make combinations that have a lesser total than the previous until you've grouped all of them again. One mistake and it's game over! Oh no!

Leaderboard

You can play this game casually, or you can give the ranked leaderboards a try! There are 4 difficulties for you to try, ranging from easy to insane. Easy has 9 cards in total and only simple numbers, while only hiding numbers. Insane has 81 cards with numbers that can reach almost 100, while giving you even fewer hints once cards are obscured. How many rounds can you beat?

Every successful round where you clear all the cards from the board gives you 100 points, plus an up to 25 points speed bonus. The game continues when you've used up all the space available, it will replace 3 random cards with new values.

Made in just a few days for GMTK Jam 2026

The theme is count down. Every group you make has to count down from the previous group. If you count up, you'll lose. And you'll be doing a lot of counting while you try to remember which number was where!

The game was made with Godot, which is a new engine for me. I've used Unity for pretty much all jams in recent years, so this was a change of pace. All content was home-made, except for the font, which is from Kenney's font pack.
